Install was good and I got everything to display fine, as far as the attribute pictures. My attribute is COLOR. But when I select a COLOR, it isn't then being persisted when I ADD TO CART to then view the cart.

I don't know if this is possible, but it really needs to treat each COLOR almost as a different item. So if I add 2 COLOR Winter Green and 3 COLOR Oatmeal, it doesn't just show the single line item saying 5.

Also, do I have to add an attribute to use this? Because I really can't think of one I need other then the color one, and I don't need to show it in two places.

The 'add-to-cart' functionality you require is not a feature of the free version. It is only available in the premium version of Product Attribute Pictures.

The option to 'Ignore Product Attributes' in the free version allows you to show extra product images of any kind i.e. not necessarily related to defined product attributes. If 'Ignore Product Attributes' is set to 'No', images will only be displayed if corresponding product attributes have been defined for that product.
