No way to load movie clips 3 Years, 3 Months ago
|

I must surely be missing something obvious because I cannot find a way of uploading movie files from within the software.
See the attached screenshot - there's no way to select active files This image is hidden for guests. Please login or register to see it.
I forgot to add - my oscommerce installation uses a differently named folder instead of the standard "catalog". Version 2.2RC2

Hi
Thanks for your query.
You need to make sure that in the Global Settings you have checked the box for 'QuickTime' player. If you have already done this and still get the problem, I'll be happy to fix it for you if you send me your FTP and osCommerce admin access details via the support email in the User Guide or the contact form on this website, although I may not be able to supply the fix until sometime tomorrow.
Cheers
Nick

Hi Nick
QuickTime player is definitely ticked.
Can you tell me the fix?

Hi Nick, I'm using a local test server so there's no way to get you access unfortunately.
However, I have succeeded in getting the active files selection box to appear (a simple typo in my implementation) and the preview movie plays in admin (but only after manually uploading it)
My problem now is displaying the movie on the website.
When I select the code button in the Position Manager I get nothing - see attached screenshot. This image is hidden for guests. Please login or register to see it.

I've battled with this for more than five hours and I simply cannot get a movie to show up on an oscommerce webpage.
I'll have to look for another solution.
Thanks for your help Nick, but for me to consider buying this software the shareware version needed to work.

Hi Nick
I have found a very easy solution.
I use tinyMCE editor in the product description page of OSC, so I simply added the "insert/edit media" button to the editor whick makes adding a movie to a product page is as simple as it could possibly get.
Load the movie to a folder on the website, and use the editor to create and implement the code required to make the movie appear on the page.
Cheers.
